效忠中東遜尼派恐怖聖戰組織「伊斯蘭國」（IS）的埃及極端好戰團體「西奈省」（Sinai Province），16日在地中海岸邊以飛彈擊毀埃及海軍一艘巡防艦，並在社群網站發布相關照片。埃及軍方則稱，該艦與西奈省戰士交火後受損。

事件發生於埃及西奈半島北部城鎮拉法的外海，拉法鄰近巴勒斯坦人自治區迦薩走廊口岸。「西奈省」推文稱，他們用岸置反艦飛彈攻擊埃及軍艦；多張照片顯示一枚飛彈襲向軍艦，艦隻被擊中後起火燃燒。但埃及軍方發言人薩米爾准將表示，海軍一艘巡防艦因與「恐怖分子」交戰，才起火燃燒。國際恐怖主義觀察機構「賽德情報集團」（SITE Intelligence Group）則研判，巡防艦係遭改造的反坦克飛彈命中。埃及國防官員稱，部分船員受到輕微燒傷，其中有些人跳海逃生。目擊者表示，事發後其他艦艇馳抵現場，營救失火艦隻上的官兵。

這是埃及軍方與「西奈省」的最新一波戰鬥。「西奈省」本月初才在西奈半島與埃及陸軍部隊交火，造成17名士兵喪生。2014年10月，埃及軍方為對應「西奈省」作亂，宣布西奈半島進入緊急狀態且實施宵禁。

「西奈省」原名「聖地守護者」，2013年因不滿軍方罷黜民選總統穆爾西而崛起，迄已殺害至少600名軍警。該組織原效命國際恐怖組織「基地」，2014年11月改投IS。
